God With Us
From the Pastor’s Desk
Matthew 1:23 re-quotes a prophecy given by Isaiah. The prophecy
states “behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call His name Immanuel”. Matthew added the translation of Immanuel as “God with us”. We see this name plastered throughout the Christmas Season, however, its true meaning is to be experienced moment by moment throughout the believers life. Our Christmas celebration is over but God is indeed with us 24/7. God’s motive for being with us is LOVE. The birth of Christ was the beginning of Immanuel’s journey through humanity. He would grow up, teach, perform miracles and eventually die on a Roman cross to save His creation. Knowing that God is with us now gives us the comfort and peace that we need as we walk throug hour valley of the shadow of death (life). Romans 8:35 asks the question “who (or what) can separate us from the love of Christ?” The answer is “nothing”. God will always love us and His desire is to always be with
us, even into eternity. Today’s message will teach us that the full
Godhead, Father Son and Holy Spirit have always been with us. The question: Are you with God?
