From the Pastor’s Desk
There are two scriptures with the words “In the Beginning”. The first, begins God’s Word to mankind, outlining the physical realm in which God placed His most treasured creation, mankind. In that physical world God’s creation became separated from the Creator due to disobedience/sin. But God had a plan – He would send “One” into the world who would solve the problem of sin and thereby reconcile man back to himself. The second time that the phrase “In the Beginning” comes to us from John 1:1. While the English translation reads the same, these two are radically different. The Genesis scripture refers to the beginning of “time” while John’s scripture is referring to eternity. It is telling us that God exists in eternity. Other scriptures tell us that God exists as Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that the three are “One”. When sin entered the physical and God sent “One” to fix the problem, that “One” was “the only begotten Son of the Father”. This was all explained to a man named Nicodemus –
the physical verses the spiritual. The things Nicodemus should have known!
