From Pastor’s Desk

Today is Father’s Day – Most of us here in this fellowship have lost our physical fathers as we are an older congregation. Still, the person that he’ was lives on in us and in who we are. Without even knowing, we tend to replicate the example set by that man who always seemed a little wiser than ourselves. Without realizing it, we began to imitate his ways into our lives. The Bible describes our ultimate Father as “God the Father”. When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, we pray, “Our Father who is in Heaven”. In His letter to the Ephesians, the Apostle Paul instructs us to “be imitators (followers) of God as His dear children”. When we first accept Christ into our lives, we are “babes” in our understanding and even our behavior. But, by following after His ways and doing the things that He has shown us, our very lives are changed for the better. This Heavenly Father can never lead us astray. He says in His word, “I will never leave you or forsake you”. Thus, today, as we honor our earthly fathers, let us also honor our Heavenly Father by doing what His word tell us to do
-By imitating Him one of his dear children
