From the Pastor’s Desk
Why do bad things happen to good people? This is an age-old question of which the reverse question has equal thought. Why does a loving God allow the evil of this world to affect those who follow Him – Even those who have dedicated their very lives to Him? Why does not a righteous God who is all powerful and all-knowing punish those who do evil even hurting the followers of God. There is a simple answer to both questions: First, in the eyes of God there is no such thing as a good person – All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Secondly, there is not one bad person in the universe to whom God did not give the breath of life – And God does not desire that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Thus, the answer to both sides of this question can be understood within the concept of “eternity”. God is an eternal God! Our promised rewards and even our promised judgement will all be given to us in eternity. Until that day, God’s promise in His word is that He will cause “all things to work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are the For all have sinned called according to His purpose.
