Before moving to Arizona from California, Sandi and I spent 20 years in State Prisons preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We were evangelists and our number one topic was salvation. The definition of salvation is “the act of being saved”. Questions are immediately brought to mind such as: What am I being saved from? Why do I need to be saved? Will this salvation bring me closer to God? Or, why do I need to be closer to God? If I do need to be closer to God how much is this going to cost me and how will this change my life? And, if it does change my life, what will my life look like after salvation? Finally, is it really possible for me to ever be a child of God, a child of the Creator of all things? The answer to these questions and many more will be the subject of today’s message as we look briefly into 7 doctrinal subjects: Forgiveness, justification, reconciliation, redemption, sanctification, newness of life and finally, adoption. These 7 subjects are an outline to the very word of God and the reasons for our salvation. Believe it or not, our Bible is really concerned about one thing – God loves us so much that His number one will for our life is that we should be “saved” (SALVATION).
