From the Pastor’s Desk
In the year of 587 BC, God allowed His people to be taken captive by the pagan Nation Babylon. His people, Israel, were being punished for multiple sins against their God. Still, God loved them and as a good father, God gave them a “time out” for 70-years. And, in the midst of this calamity, God sent forth word to His people through the Prophet Jeremiah, telling them that He had “good thoughts” (plans) for them. How simple it would have been for God to simply eradicate that sinful nation and start over. But He did not! He loved them too much. This God, is the same God that we serve. This God is the same God who sent His Son into the world to die for our sins so that all who accept Him will have eternal life. This same God has the same good thoughts for us as He did for His people Israel. Also, this same God told us that we would find Him when we searched for Him with ALL of our hearts. Did you know that this same God has a plan for your very life? Just like Israel we have all gone astray but somehow knowing this profound truth that God has a plan for my life, brings me into a closer relationship with the True and Living God.
