No one really knows who designed our American Flag – We all grew up thinking that Betsy Ross sewed the first American Flag. However, only God knows for sure. Rather than attempting endless endeavors to establish our flags beginning, I find it very interesting how the number and colors of our flag are representative of the God we serve and His relationship to the people He loves. Our nation was founded on the principles and statutes of the Christian/Judeo faith. As such, our flag should represent that which is most meaningful to us as Christians – And it does! Simply put, “Old Glory” has all this and more. The original 13 stars represent 6 plus 7. Six is the number of man and seven is the number for God. Blue is of course the color of heaven and blue forms  the backdrop of the stars. We must note: There are now 50 stars/states and 50 is the number for the Jubilee or new beginning. Isaiah writes “By His stripes we are healed” and that healing washed our souls white as snow with the precious red blood of our Savior. Again, there are 13 total stripes. So, who really designed our first flag? I believe it  was God Himself.
