Hate the Sin From Within

From the Pastor’s Desk

The Apostle Paul wrote to the saints in Rome, telling them that he
“hates” the sin that was within him. Excuse me, but this is the guy
through whom our God wrote 2/3 of the New Testament. Yet, even at the end of his own life, Paul had junk (sin) within him that he “hated”. My question to you (and to myself) is, “do you hate the sin that is within you?” Or, do you think because God loves you that He loves your sin as well? The truth is, God hates your sin! In fact, He sent His Son to die for those sins – Those sins for which you have repented and for those sins that you hate. Those sins will never be accepted in the Kingdom of God. Jesus, in the Sermon on the Mount, took the greatest of all sins, beginning with murder and adultery and told His hearers that if they were even angry with their brother/sister or had lust in their hearts, they have already committed these sins. Sin, is a heart issue. The only true way to rid ourselves of this horrible condition is through the process of “hate”. We must love one another but we must hate the sin that is within
us. If we hate the sin that is within us, we have an advocate to whom we can turn – His name is Jesus and He has place His Holy Spirit in our Hearts.
