Galatians 4:4-5 tells us “When the fulness of time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, to redeem those who were under the Law. On the night that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the angel of the Lord declared, “For there is born to you this day in the City of David (Bethlehem) a Savior who is Christ the Lord”. This Child did not come un-announced. Scripture dating back to the fall of man tells us that God would send a man through the seed of a woman who would “crush the head of the serpent (the devil)”. This would solve the problem of sin, This morning, I would like to track some of the most obvious Old Testament scriptures that foretold of His coming. These scriptures begin in the garden and culminate on the eve of what we celebrate as Christmas. The promised Messiah (Christ) would come through a special nation
beginning with the calling of a man named Abraham, to Jacob who was renamed Israel and to his son Judah. Through the Tribe of Judah would come the Throne of David and this lineage would be placed by God into a virgin by the name of Mary. Today, we travel the road, from the Garden to Bethlehem.
