Easter is the annual celebration of the day that Jesus rose from the dead. Easter means that our greatest enemy, death, has been conquered. Because He lives, we have confidence in tomorrow. Because He lives, we have no need to fear or even to worry. We know that He is our First Fruits and that which He accomplished will one day be accomplished in us. We, who were once “poor in spirit”, will now possess the Kingdom of Heaven. The “meek” will inherit the earth. All the promises that were made by Jesus of Nazareth will now come to fruition. Our Savior did not just die in our place that we might not be condemned. Rather, our Savior moved us from death to life. Easter is God’s proclamation emancipation – The slaves to sin have been set free – Love is stronger than death and death no longer has any meaning in the believer’s life. We, who believe in Him, are not like those who have no hope. We know that one day we will all experience the same resurrection that we speak of when we use the term “don’t die dead”.
Because He Lives We Can Face Tomorrow!
