From the Pastor’s Desk

Today is Easter Sunday. To the Christian it is called “Resurrection Day” It is the day that we remember as the day that Jesus rose from the grave. Last week we celebrated Passion Week and during that week Jesus died on Passover, shedding His blood for the sins of the world. For all of us who accept that sacrifice, our sins are paid – We have been reconciled to our Creator. But, what if we only lived to someday die? If that were the case, our victory would be short lived. But the resurrection of Jesus Christ conquered death declaring “death is swallowed up in victory”. Death is dead and He has become the first fruits of all who will live. The oldest book of the Bible, Job, declares “even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh shall I see God”. By comparison, even the New Testament declares that whoever puts their faith in Him “shall never perish but have everlasting life”. We who believe in the Savior, Jesus Christ and His resurrection from the dead will live. We will live because He lives! We will rise from the grave because He rose from the grave. As the song states “Because He Lives” I shall see tomorrow!
