From the Pastor’s Desk
Last week we looked at a command from the God we serve – The True and Living God. That command was to “Return to our First Love”. This morning, we will study multiple commands that can help us as we make that journey. God is urging His people (US) to “make a joyful noise” and get excited about the One we serve. God wants us to be more than happy – He wants us to be “Joyful”. the best way to be joyful is to thank the One from whom all joy and all blessing flow. He wants for us to come into His presence with “thanksgiving in our hearts”. And, He wants for praises to be constantly on our lips. God is not vain, He does not need our praises or our thankfulness for His personal pleasure. Rather, He knows us – He knows that there is healing in our soul as we praise Him and as we thank Him. As our National Day of Thanksgiving rapidly approaches, we, as believers, need to lay aside all personal requests and concentrate on thanking the Lord Jesus Christ for our very life that He has given us. Thus, Returning to our First Love begins with a song of praise and the words,
