From the Pastor’s Desk

There is only One True Vine and that True Vine is the Vine that created man in His own image. However, there are branches within the vine that “does not bear fruit”. All the good works of mankind will never produce the fruit of righteousness that God desires of His creation. Thus, most of the branches of man are fruitless and God takes them away – “He casts them out and they are thrown into the fire and are burned”. As for those branches that do bear fruit, Jesus tells us that they will be pruned by the husbandman (God the Father) so that they may bear even more fruit. The scriptures of John 15:1-10 are not teaching us how to grow grapes. Rather, they are teaching us as believers, the importance of abiding/ remaining in the Vine. We do not need to be agriculturally intelligent to know that a fruit cannot develop independently from the Vine. Similarly, any fruit that does develop can only do so as it “abides” within that Vine. Staying in the Vine of Jesus is the ultimate picture of living the Christ filled life and the key to this Christ filled life is “abiding in the Vine”!
