The seventh Chapter of Romans paints a picture of man who is controlled by the flesh (sin) – Who, by his own remission cannot be righteous. Paul asks at the end of Chapter 7, “Who will deliver me from this body of death” – The answer is, “Jesus Christ our Lord”. Chapter 8 then begins by saying, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus”. The 8th Chapter of Romans will take us from condemnation to a love of God that is so wonderfully omnipotent that we simply cannot comprehend such a love. Keep in mind, nothing has changed – We are still the same sinful flesh that we were in Chapter 7. However, our acceptance of what Christ did on the cross made us a child of God. “We received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out Abba “Father. That sonship with God through Jesus Christ is a bond stronger than “life or death” and it can never be broken nor can “anything separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord”. Today we study the 8th Chapter of Romans. Hang on to your seats as the Apostle Paul brings us from CONDEMNATION TO GLORY.
